Moving On Up

When I was a youngster
In my early twenties
I didn't know the meaning
Of the word 'Plenty'.

When I reached the
Happy age of thirty
Playing with children I
Didn't mind getting dirty.

Eventually I reached
The magic age of forty
It was the days
I liked to dress sporty.

I noticed big changes
At the age of fifty
The spring in my step
Wasn't very nifty.

Since then
The years passed fast
Today in my seventies
It's the very last.

Tuesday I'll be eighty
And feeling it in my bones
My youth I regret to say
is long gone!!
