Can You See Her Now

Years have come and gone and life ticks along
One day one hour a second at a time

Look past the silver strands that once were gold
Past the wrinkled hands that now are old
Eyes that once twinkled blue and bold

Upon her face there is a story to be told
Lips that sweetly smiled upon her child's
Now thinned from pain and all of life's guiles

Her steps are measured and heart beats slow
Where once danced a maid her face aglow

The tap of her cane now a determined beat
Yet still a sad melody now for her feet

She'll make her journey across the room
To sit once more at her weaving loom
Thinking all the while that life is a tapestry
Woven by the hands of time and not her own..
